What is your tolerance on this job? A pergola and a curtain wall are not held to the same standard. A workshop that answers with a number rather than a reassurance is one that thinks about it.
What should the specification say?
For glazed work: thermal break in any air-conditioned room, double glazing with a Low-E coating, and hardware named rather than described as standard. For architectural work: section sizes, span, fixing method and RAL colour. For facade: sub-frame design, bracket type, thermal movement allowance and interface detail where cladding meets glazing.
On thermal break specifically, this is not an upgrade to be talked out of. Bare aluminium conducts heat readily, and an uninsulated frame carries outdoor heat straight into a cooled room. The polyamide barrier inside the profile is what stops it.
