Why does in-house fabrication matter?
Most companies quoting for metalwork, aluminium or glass in the UAE do not make any of it. They coordinate: a welding shop here, a glazier there, a coating line somewhere else, each with its own queue, its own tolerances and its own idea of the colour you asked for. When something arrives wrong, responsibility moves to a supplier you have no contract with.
Al Taher works the other way round. Cutting, welding, glazing, joinery, stone and powder coating all happen in one building in the Al Hail Industrial Area, and installation is carried out by our own crews. A villa gate, its matching boundary fencing, the stair railing inside and the window frames upstairs pass through the same workshop and the same colour batch — which is why they read as one job rather than four purchases that nearly match.
It also changes what a revision costs. Design changes mid-project are normal; when the fabricator owns the schedule, a change is a conversation rather than a re-tender.
What does the coast do to metalwork?
Fujairah sits on the Gulf of Oman, and salt-laden air is the single biggest factor in how long exterior metal lasts here. The metal itself is rarely what fails first — the finish is. Thin coating on edges, uncovered drill points and poor surface preparation are where corrosion starts, and they are invisible on handover day.
That is the reason we run our own coating line rather than sending work out. Degreasing, mechanical preparation and pre-treatment decide adhesion more than the powder does, and film thickness at edges is exactly where a cheap job economises. Cast aluminium is specified where corrosion resistance leads; steel where span and security lead, prepared and coated to match the exposure.
How does a project actually run?
A free site visit within 48 hours, anywhere in the seven emirates. We measure the opening, structure or room as it was actually built rather than as drawn — as-built dimensions vary everywhere, and fabricating to a drawing is how gates arrive that do not fit. An itemised quotation follows within 24 hours of that visit: materials, fabrication, finish, delivery and installation each visible as its own line, so you can add or remove an element and see exactly what it changes.
